The Nissan Artic was a concept vehicle and design study by Nissan commissioned by its Design America division in La Jolla, NAIAS, in 2004 and exhibited at the North American International Auto Show in 2004 .

The car was a SUV with soft, projectile-like bodywork resembling a small Nissan Murano .
Mass production was never planned, but the car served to showcase possible future technologies and design directions in Nissan vehicles. It also wanted to test the interest of the buyers in a small entry-level SUV .
The most interesting details include sliding doors instead of the usual hinged doors. The seating system and design take highly functional approach.
