Martaré was a Dutch car brand from the 1970s
Ed Martaré from Amsterdam was a commercial artist and ran a polyester business in Aalsmeer . He designed a hardtop for a convertible and in 1971 the prototype of a coupe , of which he produced and sold eight copies until 1973.
The hardtop was made for the Fiat 850 Spider and was sold in a small series. The Coupé Martaré GT was either equipped with two double doors or in even smaller series as flip-over front (the entire front body was opened together with the discs) and was similar to the Thurner RS . While the prototype was equipped with parts of the Fiat 238 and the four-cylinder engine of the Fiat 125 , came in the series a chassis from VW used.
The kit cost 9,500 Dutch Guilders, the complete vehicle 17,000 guilders.
