The Mitsubishi i is a small car ( Kei-Car ) of the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors , which came on January 24, 2006 on the Japanese market, 28 months after its debut as a "concept car" at the IAA 2003 in Frankfurt. It has four doors, an electronically controlled mid-engine with a maximum output of 47 kW and a maximum torque of 95 Nm. The vehicle reaches a top speed of 130 km / h.

Although the car was originally designed specifically for Japan, it was introduced to other right-hand-drive markets in Asia, Oceania and Europe. Based on this, there is the Mitsubishi i-MiEV , a pure electric car.

Another unusual peculiarity for today's small car is the self-supporting aluminum - skeletal body of the Mitsubishi i.
