History
In the mid-1980s, Wanshan Special Vehicle started to replicate the heavy Soviet / Belarusian MAZ-543 truck in Wanshan . Which was to serve as as a mobile rocket launch pad for short-range missiles like the DF-11 . The result of these efforts was called WS2400 8 × 8. Initial problems in the production of the vehicle could be remedied by the assistance of Belarusian experts in the late 1990s.
The WS2400 is similar outwardly strong the MAZ-543, but it will probably by a Deutz turbocharged diesel engine. In addition, the truck exists in different versions with partly different drive formulas the 8x8 Vehicle is fitted with tyre inflation system for the increased payload capacity. The WS2400 has a loading capacity of 22 tons.
