The Büssing 6000 S was a truck which was manufactured between 1952 and 1956 by the Büssing Nutzkraftwagen GmbH , On this chassis types were also different to 1957 buses 6000 T and 6500 T manufactured.

History

During World War II they supplied military vehicles. After the unconditional surrender in 1945 , tried and tested types were first produced in partially repaired factories during World War II. The Büssing 5000 S (formerly 4500) with 5.35 tons of payload and 105  hp was built until 1950 and then replaced by the 5500 S until 1952. Successor was the 6000 S with an engine output of 120 hp.

The 6000 S was one of the long haulers preferred by truckers . The noise of the engine gave the driver the switching points to switch the unsynchronized transmission with intermediate hubs.  The truck had the series 6-cylinder  diesel engine S 8 with a capacity (88 kW) from eight liters and provided 120 horsepower at a speed of 1800's. The mechanical gearbox Büssing 5 GSN was locked to the engine, had five gears plus reverse gear and was not synchronized.

Due to the bonnet located in front of the driver's cab.The cab still had the usual wooden frame and a split windshield with hanging windshield wipers . As early as 1955, "flashing lights" had replaced the earlier usual Winker as direction indicators . The chromed "Büssing-spider" on the hood of that time shaped the image of the different models., the 8.21  m long vehicle had a loading length of 5 m. The vehicle was 2.40 m wide and 2.85 m high. The smallest turning circle was 18.40 m.The two-axle vehicle had a payload of 6.3 tonnes, a gross vehicle weight of 12.25 tonnes and was approved for a 24-tonne three-axle trailer. The permissible gross train weight was 36.25 tonnes. The tipper had a tipping bridge 4 m in length with a total length of 7.64 m. The payload was allowed to be 5.7 tons. The fuel tank was 150 liters, t. The maximum and permanent speeds were 70  km h . The four-wheel drive version had a payload of 6.1 tonnes with a gross vehicle weight of 12.6 tonnes and a gross vehicle weight of 36.6 tonnes. The payload of the dump truck was allowed to be 5.75 tons. The fuel consumption was 21 liters / 100 km.

The chassis of the 6000 was used since 1952 for the construction of buses; so for the Büssing 6000 T (like Trambus ). The buses were all delivered with underfloor engines  . The Büssing 6000 T articulated train had a length of 17.2 meters. The permissible total weight was 22.5 tons, in addition to conductor and driver the bus could carry 140 passengers (93 standing places). The engine was the U10 with ten liters of displacement and 150 hp (110 kW) power. In 1954 followed the 6500 T, which was manufactured until 1957 with the engine U10. Depending on the gearbox, the maximum speed was 70-85 km / h. The permissible total weight was 14.1 tonnes, but was allowed to be exceeded in the "peak traffic" at speeds up to 30 km / h by 1400 kg. So the number of passengers was 100 instead of the usual 80 people. Also allowed was a bus trailer up to eleven tons. The double deck Trambus 6500 T of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) had a gross vehicle weight of 15.5 tonnes and carried 85 passengers (70 seats).By 1955, the Essen-based body construction company Gebr. Ludewig launched the Andeshalbdecker Büssing 6500 T Aero .
