The second generation of the Buick Enclave is since autumn 2017 available SUV car brand Buick from General Motors Corporation and successor of the Buick Enclave (2007) . It is only offered outside of Europe, with the variant produced in the United States differing significantly from the variant made in China.

The Enclave with the internal name C1YB is manufactured in the United States for the North American market. Compared to the version with the internal designation C1UB produced in China, the C1YB is longer and has a stronger powertrain.For the first time, the Buick Enclave was presented on April 11, 2017 at an event at Pier 59 Studios in Borough Manhattan , New York City  The first formal public presentation was on the NYIAS 2017. 

The basis of the vehicle is the GM-C1XX platform with a long wheelbase, which is also used by GM for the Chevrolet second-generation crossbeam . Both have been built together since 2017 at the GM plant Lansing in the US state of Michigan . The Enclave is 5,189 mm long, 2,002 mm wide and 1,775 mm high. He has seven seats: two in the front row, two in the middle row and three in the last row. The luggage compartment volume is between 688 liters in full seating and 2764 liters when both rows of seats in the passenger compartment are folded. The tank holds 73 liters in front-wheel drive and 82 liters in four-wheel drive. 

EPA fuel efficiency is between 13.1 l / 100 km downtown and 9.0 l / 100 km off-highway, with four-wheel drive between 13.8 l / 100 km inner city and 9.4 l / 100 km on the highway. 

In all equipment as standard ABS , ESP , electronic brake force distribution , the GM OnStar system, LED headlamps and since May 2018 in the US prescribed rear view camera . In addition, more expensive equipment variants have a lane departure warning assistant, a lane change assistant, a lane departure warning system, an adaptive cruise control system , an environment observation system for the events in front of the vehicle, and an all-round visibility system with cameras. 

The vehicle has seven airbags installed (front, side and curtain airbags).  When by the US federal agency NHTSA conducted US NCAP crash test it reached five stars in the overall standings. 

Buick offers the Enclave in four trim levels: Enclave, Essence, Premium and Avenir. 

For the Enclave ten exterior colors and three wheel designs are offered. The headlights are arranged as well as the tail lights horizontally. Under the grille, through which runs a chrome strip and in which the brand logo is attached, there is a possibility of the license plate attached. Furthermore, there are three air inlets above the bumper lower edge. In the fenders are (indicated) air outlets. The chrome trim of these outlets will continue in the front doors. The exterior mirrors are mounted on bars below the window line. From the bonnet to the rear side panels, a convex sheet metal bulge. The fuel filler flap is in the left rear side part. The tailgate on which the rear license plate can be fixed has a curved disc with a semicircular lower edge and a recess for the brand logo. A panel in theD-pillar creates a transition between the rear window, the spoiler lip and the rear side window. Between the taillights a chrome strip is mounted. Above the exhaust covers horizontal reflectors are integrated in the rear bumper.

All Enclave have a multifunction steering wheel. In the instrument cluster, among other things, the engine speed is similarly represented by a pointer instrument. In the center of the instrument cluster, an integrated multi-color 4.2-inch LC display (8-inch "Avenir") is installed as a display for interchangeable display content . The selector lever is in joystick form and is electrically connected to the gearbox ( shift-by-wire ).  In the base model cloth seats are installed in the equipment variants also part leather seats. 

In the middle of the dashboard, an 8-inch touchscreen is integrated to control the infotainment system. Smartphone integration is possible with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay . The vehicle has a WLAN router with the possibility of an LTE connection to the mobile network. 

Engines 

Only offered engine is a six-cylinder engine in V-type (Engine Code: LFY), with a maximum net power of 231  kW at 6800 RPM and a maximum torque of 353  Nm at 2800 rpm . It is a front cross- built gasoline engine . The displacement is 3649 cc ( bore 95 mm, stroke85.8 mm). The pistons are sprayed with oil from below for cooling. The cylinder blocks and heads are cast in aluminum. The engine has four valves per cylinder, controlled by two overhead camshafts per cylinder bank ( DOHC valve control ). To control the timing , a continuously variable, variable camshaft phasing with phasing is used.  The mixture preparation is done by direct injection . The engine is designed for E85 operation. By means of a start-stop system , the engine can be switched off automatically when the vehicle is at a standstill.

For transmission , the engine of the Buick Enclave is connected to a nine-stage torque converter automatic transmission of the "GM Hydramatic 9T65" type. All trim levels are available with front-wheel drive , four-wheel drive is only in conjunction with the lowest trim level "Enclave" not available. For the highest equipment variants, the four-wheel drive is equipped with an electronic differential lock "Active Twin Clutch" from supplier GKN for torque distribution ( torque vectoring ) . The axle ratio is 3.49: 1. The spreadof the gearbox has a value of 7.6. The gearbox is composed of five planetary gear sets , four fixed coupling units and three co-rotating clutch units ( Lepelletier gearbox ). As a lockup clutch , a friction clutch is used. In the gearbox, a pressure accumulator for the transmission hydraulics should be installed which stores energy for the start-up processes of the start / stop system. 

On the front axle MacPherson struts are installed, the wishbones are mounted with hydraulic damping bushings. Five-link independent suspensions with additional springs are used for the rear suspension. On both axles stabilizers are installed to reduce the tendency to roll . In the highest equipment line "Avenir" an adaptive damping is used. The steering has an electric power assistance with active steering return to the center position.

All around disc brakes are installed. The brake system is servo-assisted. The parking brake has an electronic control. The standard wheels have a diameter of 18 inches or 20 inches (at "Avenir").
