Powered by a choice of either a Gardner 5HLW or 6HLW engine, it was originally offered with a 5-speed pre-selector gearbox. In 1951 a longer version became available with a wheelbase of 17ft 6in, and at the same time both 4 and 5-speed constant mesh gearboxes were offered as alternatives to the pre-selector gearbox.
Both air brakes or triple servo vacuum brakes were available as alternatives to each other.
The UF remained in production until 1959.
