The Otter is a forward control single-deck chassis with a wheelbase of 14ft 9in. When introduced in 1949, it was offered with a choice of either a Guy 4-cylinder petrol engine of 58bhp or a Gardner 4LW 4- cylinder diesel engine of 3.8 litres capacity.
Transmission is via a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox, a 2-speed rear axle being offered as an optional extra. Braking was of the servo assisted hydraulic type.
From 1952 a further engine option was available, this being the Perkins P6 diesel unit. Chassis fitted with petrol engines are classified LLO, whilst those with Gardner 4LW units are LLOD and Perkins engined versions LLODP. Production of the Otter ceased in 1958.
