The Fiat 525 is a car produced by Fiat from 1928 to 1931 .
It was the successor model of the Fiat 512 . Compared to the ancestor it was more spacious. Initially it was planned, to replace the "512", an 8- cylinder model , called Fiat 530 ; only later was it decided to focus on the "525". The first series had the following dimensions: 5000 mm in length, 1780 mm in width, 1802 mm in height . It reached 97 km / h .
Three other versions were produced, the "525 N", the "525 S" and the "525 SS":
- 525N: the updated model, the "525 N", was produced the year after the launch. It had the following dimensions: 4700 mm in length, 1700 mm in width, 1775 mm in height. It reached 101 km/ h . The chassis was shortened and many technological innovations were applied. 1784 were produced and it was manufactured until 1931 . Many of the models produced were exported.
- 525 S and 525 SS: they were the sports versions. They had a more powerful engine and a shorter chassis . The "525 S" had the following dimensions: 4550 mm in length, 1700 mm in width, 1758 mm in height.The "525 SS was produced from 1928 to 1930 while the" 525 S "until 1931 . The engine of the "525 SS" delivered 89 hp of power . The "525 S" reached 107 km/ h . More than 2100 were assembled.
Of the first version 511 specimens were produced plus a car for the Pope . A total of 4400 cars were manufactured. For all versions, the gearbox was four-speed manual. The brakes were hydraulic on all four wheels.They were produced four types of "525", sedan with four doors, convertible to two and four doors and spider with two doors.
