Kewet Industri (Knud Erik Westergaard Elektrisk Transport)

Hadsund; Denmark from 1988 on.

Hadsund; Denmark from 1988 on.

Kewet Industri was a Danish manufacturer of small electric automobiles from the 1980s on.

Kewet Industri History

Knud Erik Westergaard founded the company in Hadsund in 1988 and began producing automobiles. In 1998, production ended in Denmark when the company went bankrupt . Kollega Bil AS from Oslo took over the design rights and founded Elbil Norge AS for further production . This company used the brand name until 2005 production as the buddy from Buddy Electric AS still continued.

The company produced micro cars on  tubular steel frames, glass fiber reinforced body with electric motors with rear-wheel drive and 4-speed manual transmission with top speed of 70 km / h. There was the Kewet EL Jet  with various updates and later as buddy .
