Trio Cars

Trio Cars was a British manufacturer of kit car automobiles . The brand name was Trio . 

History

Ken Hallett founded the company in 1993 in Wareham , County Dorset . He started producing construction plans for DIY, kits and automobiles. In 2000 the production ended. In total, about five vehicles and another 25 construction plans were created. 

The only model was a 3 wheel car with rear single wheel. The chassis included a subframe from the Mini . The open two-seat body consisted mainly of wood , aluminum and vinyl, the hood and the front fenders made of fiberglass . Many parts, including the four-cylinder engine , came from Austin .
