Townend Engineering

Automotive manufacturer of Great Britain from 1958 to 1962.

 

Townend Engineering was a British manufacturer of kit type automobiles from the late 1950s .The brand name was Townend . 

History

The brothers Geoff and Peter Townend founded the company in 1958 and began producing automobiles and kits . 1962 ended production. In total, about 60 copies were made. 

The model was the 581 this was the basis of the vehicles, the chassis of Ford Eight and Ford Ten represents.  Then, a two-seater open vehicle body is mounted.With A four-cylinder engine .The price of a kit including doors and headlights was around £108. A hardtop cost 20 pounds extra.  The Halifax Panel Beating Company Limited from Halifax offered the kits .
