  • Eastmead Biggs (1901-1904)

Eastmead & Biggs

Automotive manufacturer of Frome in Great Britain from 1901 to 1904.

Eastmead & Biggs was a British manufacturer of automobiles in the early part of the 20th century in Somerset.

History

Mr. Eastmead made elevators in Blackfriars . TJ Biggs constructed motor vehicles. In 1901 they founded the joint company in Frome for the production of automobiles. The brand name was Eastmead-Biggs . In 1904, production ended when Biggs moved to the Raleigh Cycle Company and designed a car there. In total, three vehicles were created.

The first vehicle received a motor from Simms Manufacturing . The engine made 3.5 hp . The vehicle was destroyed in a fire.

The second vehicle had again an engine from Simms, but with 8 hp. The transmission came from a manufacturer from France .

The third vehicle had a two-cylinder engine of Aster 8 HP. Transmission, rear axle and body also came from France.
