Ryknield Motor Co. Ltd history

A 15hp Ryknield brougham

The Ryknield Motor Co. Ltd.. was a British automobile manufacturer in Burton-upon-Trent (Staffordshire). 1903-1906 various passenger cars and commercial vehicles were built there.

1903, the 10/12 hp was presented. It had a series of two-cylinder engine with 1.4 liter displacement and a wheelbase of 2438 mm. Probably was just a prototype.

More models appeared in 1906. The 15 hp had a three-cylinder engine with 2.8 liter displacement, while the 20 hp had a four-cylinder engine with 3.7 liter displacement. The wheelbases were 2,438 mm or 2743 mm. Less well known is the 24 hp, four-cylinder engine had a 6.0 liter displacement. Presumably it was also just a prototype.
