The Nacional was built in part of the factory of Distribuidora Mexicana, a big furniture-making company. It was designed by Antonio Ruiz Galindo, son of
the owner of DM, it made striking convertible bodies to owners' orders and were built on any stock American chassis, mainly from Mercury.
About 15 were made before before Galindo turned to the retailing of Fiats.
