BEDFORD OLAZ Bus
From 1940 to 1953
The O model Bedford is a normal control chassis introduced in 1940 wartime basically as a goods model. The OLAZ was supplied as a chassis only (as opposed to the OLAC which was a chassis and cab), and had a wheelbase of 13ft .
The OLAZ chassis remained in production until 1953, although none were built during World War 2, between the end of 1940 and 1946.
The engine used is a Bedford 6-cylinder petrol unit of 27.34hp capacity whilst the transmission is via a 4-speed gearbox and single plate clutch to a fully floating spiral bevel rear axle. The brakes which act on all 4 wheels are hydraulically operated
