The Audi A2H2 is on the Audi A2 -based prototype of a hydrogen - fuel cell vehicle , which was presented of 2004.
The vehicle is powered by hydrogen, which is stored in pressure tanks at 350 bar. A polymer electrolyte fuel cell with a capacity of 66 kW provides the energy for a 110 kW (150 hp) electric motor. This high peak power is realized by a 38 kW NiMH battery , which serves as a buffer.
The performance is in the usual range of hydrogen vehicles of this generation: The range is with three pressurized gas tanks 220 km and the vehicle accelerates in 11 s from 0 to 100 km / h. The top speed is typical 175 km / h.
